As a Strength and Conditioning coach, you will have the skills to develop strength, agility, speed and fitness for athletes from various sports and backgrounds. This course is not just for those looking to work with high level athletes, your niche may include youth training, crossfit athletes, special populations or general populations.

Course Struture and Content

How is the course delivered?


This course is completed by blended learning, however it is possible to complete this course fully via distance learning. Once enrolled, a tutor will be in contact to discuss your individual study plan. Your learning can be completed in as little as 6 weeks however you can take up to 12 months to complete your course if you would rather take your time. You will first need to work through and complete your home study using your workbooks, E-Learning and Tutor support. We also recommend you complete the 4 personal training qualification specific live interactive webinars. Once your home study is completed, you can then book onto a 2 day mandatory practical workshop. However this can be completed via webinar if required.




What is covered on this course?


As with all our qualifications, your strength and conditioning course is broken down into the core qualifcation, business or career set up and continued education. The course is delivered via home study, webinars, practical workshops and 1-1 Skype or face - face sessions. Your core qualification will include the following elements: Performance Analysis of an Athlete (Webinars, E Learning and Workbooks)

What course materials are included?


Once enrolled, you will receive your NSCA Essentials of Strength and Conditioning Textbook and access to the E-Learning portal. Additional learning will be provided in live webinars (allowing you to ask questions during the session) videos and practical days. Our content is a mixture of written work, practical tasks, classroom style webinars, 1-1 skype sessions and hands on practical days to ensure you get the most value for your money.




How will I be assessed?


You will be assessed via a range of assessment methods across your course. These will include: Unit 1: Performance analysis of an athlete

  • A written assingment
  • A case study for an athlete of your choice, detailing your needs analysis and fitness testing.
Unit 2: Planning and delivering strength and conditioning sessions
  • A case study of your athlete detailing your periodised plan and programming
  • An observed strength and conditioning session with your athlete.




What if I fail an assessment?


Firstly, it is unlikely you will fail your assessment. Our job is to make sure that you are ready to complete your assessment, through feedback and guidance during your course. However, in the event that you did fail an assessment, you would be able to rebook your assessment free of charge.

Do you offer finance?


Whislt we aim to be able to offer finance on all courses, this currently is not available. However, please contact us so we can discuss options with you.




Do I need access to a gym?


It would definatley help if you was able to practice your skills and prepare for the assessment. If you live locally, you will have free access to the Guildford Spectrum Leisure Centre during your course.




What happens after I click buy?


Your course manual will be sent to your home address within 7 days and one of our tutors will contact you to discuss your learning plan, practical dates and set up your E-learning. You will then work through your course materials and either attend our course webinars live, or you can watch back anytime. Once you are ready, you will attend a practical workshop and learn exercise techniques, coaching and program design. At this point, you will be able to book in your practical assessment to complete your cpoirse and recieve your certificate.




What support will I get during the course?


You will have 24/7 access to your personal tutor during the course, and we will continue to be available even after you have graduated. During your course you will have access to a group of all other learners and your tutors were you can ask questions and network or brainstorm with your cohort. After graduation you will have a 6 month subscription to our post graduate E course platform with live monthly webinars.




Are there any prerequisites for this course?


Yes. You will need to have a level 3 personal training qualification (or equivalent) or a level 3 strength and condiitoning qualifcation (or equivalent) to complete this course (Proof of your certificate is mandatory for us to register you with the awarding body). Learners may also hold relevant higher education or further education qualifications that are equivalent or higher than those listed above (e.g. physiotherapy, sports therapy). There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 3.
